Charlie Kirk was a right-wing and conservative American political activist who became known through having political debates in Youtube videos. He rose to fame back in 2012, as the co-founder of a conservative student organization called TPUSA.
Kirk started getting media attention from a younger audience back in April of 2024, when he voiced his controversial opinions concerning matters such as abortions, gun laws and LGBTQIA rights among other things.
“I think it’s worth to have a cost of, unfortunately, some gun deaths every single year so that we can have the Second Amendment to protect our other God-given rights. That is a prudent deal.”
On September 10th 2025, Kirk was presenting at Utah Valley university. The 31 year old had announced on X (formerly known as Twitter) his “America comeback tour" with the University being the first stop. Footage shows Kirk’s tent having an open space, 6 security guards and railings separating him from the crowd. He had just finished answering a question about violence when he was shot at the left side of his neck. Kirk was rushed to a black SUV and driven to the nearest hospital.
The location of the shooter is suspected to have been the rooftop of the ‘Losee Center’, located just about 200 yards away from the spot where Kirk was standing. The suspicion arose from a video that was taken inside a different building, showing a figure running away from the rooftop immediately after the attack. The rooftop was easily accessible since it was connected to another building through an elevated path, separated only by a railing. Police are investigating the suspected rooftop, and there is an ongoing manhunt for the shooter of Charlie Kirk. Two men who were suspects have been released.
President Donald Trump stated that he was “Filled with grief and anger at the heinous assassination of Charlie Kirk on a college campus in Utah’’. The president also expressed that “Today is a dark day for America’’.
